AUTUMN 2017 WORKSHOPS
TWO Sessions: Saturday 9th September 10.00am-1.00pm & 2-4pm
Saturday 30th September 10.00am-1.00pm
This course is for those that can knit already and will teach you the rudiments of ‘top-down’ socks. Practice of knitting in the round is useful, but not essential. Experienced sock knitter, Judith Noble, will take you through casting on, working in the round on double pointed needles and turning the heel on the first Saturday of this course. Some homework is required during the three weeks between sessions, when you will knit the foot of the sock. The second workshop will take you through decreasing for the toe and finishing. Should further help be required, there is an option of coming back on the afternoon of the second session, so you won’t feel rushed. Owing to time constraints it will only be possible to do ankle socks, unless you are well practised in circular knitting. All materials supplied including pattern, wool, refreshments (not including lunch) and needles. A basic Knit Pro metal needle set (2.5mm) is supplied in the course fee but there will be a selection of others to try and options to upgrade.
All courses take place in the shop.
Please note that workshops and courses are booked on a first come, first served basis and payment will be required to secure your booking. Refunds can only be made if the workshop place is successfully resold.
Mid-morning and afternoon refreshments are provided. Any special dietary requirements should be notified beforehand.
